Rendezvous in the Forest

I know a thicket in the wood

where we can rendezvous

Will you meet me there to escape

the toils of the day?

We have found our hidden place

amongst the foliage

Mother will cover us with bough and branch

sheilding us from prying eyes

Make your touch tender as the gentle wind

that moves through the trees

Keep me underwing, close,

as the birds do their hatchlings

This moment on the fleeting clock ours

before the thief Time steals it
